TRUSSVILLE — According to Mayor Buddy Choat, an employee at Trussville City Hall has tested positive for COVID-19, causing a shut down of City Hall.
Choat said the facility was closed until further notice and reminded the public that tag renewals could be facilitated online or through the mail.
The announcement comes less than 24 hours after Jefferson County Health Officer Dr. Mark Wilson announced a new ordinance for the county that requires face masks in public. The order goes into effect on Monday, June 29, at 5 p.m.
