BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department is investigating after a child was shot in a drive-by shooting on Tuesday, June 30, 2020.
Detectives said at 4:11 p.m., officers responded to Children’s of Alabama after a man came to the hospital with the child. He told detectives the five-year-old was riding in a vehicle on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive when someone from another vehicle fired shots, striking the child.
No suspects are in custody. The child’s injuries are life-threatening.
