BIRMINGHAM—As interstate construction continues across Birmingham, the Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) says drivers can expect more delays in the coming days.
Below is a list of closures coming to downtown this and next week:
- I-59/20 SB at 31st /25 Street Exit Ramp will be closed Friday, July 10 through Sunday, July 12 from 8 p.m. until 11:59 p.m. for Barrier Wall and Flume Demo.
- I-59/20 SB at the Carraway Blvd. Exit Ramp will be closed Sunday, July 12 through Wednesday, July 15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. for Lighting Installation.
- 16th Street between Rev. Abraham Woods and 10th Avenue N will be closed Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. for Grade/Base/Pave.
- 19th Street N from Rev. Abraham Woods to 10th Street will be closed, Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11: 59 p.m. for Culvert Installation.
- 22nd Street N between Rev. Abraham Woods and 9th Avenue will be closed, Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 for Culvert Installation.
- 24th Street NB and SB between Richard Arrington Blvd. and Rev. Abraham Woods will be a single right closure Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 for Drainage Installation.
- 25th Street NB and SB between Richard Arrington Blvd. and Rev. Abraham Woods will be closed Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. for Curb/ Gutter/Paving.
- Richard Arrington, Jr. Blvd., NB between 24th and 25th Street NB will be closed Tuesday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 5 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. for Lighting Installation.
- Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. between Caraway and 28th Street will be closed Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. for Grade/Drain/Installation.
- Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd. between 25th Street and Carraway Blvd. will be closed Thursday, July 9 through Thursday, July 16 from 12 a.m. until 11:59 p.m. for Grading and Cleanup.
Detour signs will be in place where necessary. These plans can change due to weather and other factors.
