PINSON — Brad Walker formally announced his candidacy for Pinson City Council – Place 2. Walker’s platform includes promoting economic growth in the community, support of local schools to promote and provide opportunities for educational growth, and public safety.
“We have made great strides in the growth of our city over the last 16 years and I am proud of the work the city leaders have done to bring us to this point,” said Walker. “I believe it is time to take another step by encouraging companies to locate in Pinson, not only to promote our economic growth but to provide Pinson residents access to local resources to conduct their daily business and more importantly, create local jobs for our citizens.
“I love the small-town feel of Pinson and I believe it is possible to keep the small-town feel of our community while offering similar resources as larger surrounding communities.”
Walker believes very strongly in the quality and value of a good education.
“We have excellent schools here in Pinson and I believe it is our duty as a community to provide the very best educational opportunities to our children,” Walker said. “Our children are our future and we owe it to ourselves, our community and our children to ensure that they are prepared to be the leaders of tomorrow.”
With the recent unrest in cities across the country, Walker has also pledged to support public safety measures to promote a “thriving and safe community.”
