BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Officer released the identity of three people killed in three separate crashes across the county.
On Sunday, July 19, Dontrae Taccarris Black, 27, of Birmingham, was injured in a crash on Interstate 59/20 near Tallapoosa Street, in Birmingham. Black, who was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over on the side of the road, was struck by another vehicle when he exited the vehicle. Black died on Monday, July 20, at UAB Hospital. Birmingham Police are investigating.
Nathan Lee Dill, 35, of Quinton, Ala., was killed on Monday, July 20, in a crash in Graysville. Alabama State Troopers said Dill was driving an SUV on U.S. Hwy West when the vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree. Dill was pronounced dead on the scene.
In the early morning hours of Tuesday, July 21, another crash claimed the life of a Midfield woman. Jasmine Desarae Mitchell, 32, crashed at 1:52 a.m., on Woodland Avenue SW, in Birmingham. Police responded and Mitchell was pronounced dead on the scene. Crash investigators said the sedan Mitchell was driving crossed the centerline, exited the roadway and struck a tree.
No other injuries were reported in the crashes.
