TRUSSVILLE — The Gulf South Conference has revealed its All-Decade Softball Team, and a former Hewitt-Trussville standout made the cut.
Stephanie Needham, a first-team NFCA All-American as a first baseman at UAH in 2012, has been recognized as a second-teamer on the all-decade roster.
Needham ranks second all-time in league history with a .438 batting average, and ranks third all-time with a .781 slugging percentage. Eight years after graduating, she remains UAH’s all-time leader in both categories. She also set the NCAA Division II national tournament record with five hits in a game while also matching the event’s records in both RBIs with five and home runs with two.
Following her time at Hewitt-Trussville, Needham signed with Wallace State-Hanceville, where she went on to back-to-back All-American seasons in 2009-10. She helped lead the Lions to consecutive state championships and a pair of national runner-ups. The first baseman signed with UAH in time for the 2011 season.
She recently became the mother of triplet girls.
