HAYDEN — The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) is investigating a fatal crash that happened on Blount County Road 5, five miles west of Hayden.
The two-vehicle crash happened at 7:35 a.m., on Thursday, July 23, 2020.
ALEA said a 1994 Honda Civic crossed the centerline and struck a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta, head-on. The driver of the Civic, Jared Scot Spahn, 27, was pronounced dead on the scene.
The driver of the Jetta was taken to the hospital for treatment.
