TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Senior Activity Center has planned outdoor events for the month of August, that will be safe for participants. The center will host a bingo event and a shredding event.
The shredding event will be called Shred and Cream. There will be a shredder on hand and ice cream will be served. The event will be held on Friday, Aug. 14, from 9 a.m. until noon. Participants can protect themselves from scams and identity theft by shredding sensitive documents that contain personal information. The event is free and there will be curbside assistance.
Birthday Parking Lot Bingo will be held on Friday, Aug. 28, from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. While celebrating August birthdays of all the members of the Trussville Senior Activity Center, a game of Bingo will be played in the parking lot, at 504 Cherokee Drive. All participants will stay in their cars and are asked to wear a mask. There will be assigned parking spots and disposable Bingo sheets and pieces will be provided. The first person with a BINGO will honk their horn and win a prize.
Senior Center Director Makeda Smith said the events will be held in a safe environment to protect seniors during the COVID-19 pandemic.
