BIRMINGHAM — The Birmingham Police Department reported one of two shooting victims over the weekend died from his injuries.
Officers were first called to the scene in the 200 block of Ninth Avenue North, at 2:54 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2020.
Police found Tyler Artez Lee, 18, on the front porch of a home. Artez was suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound. He was taken to UAB Hospital where he later died.
Another victim was found nearby, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. That person was also taken to the hospital for treatment and there is no word on their condition.
Investigators determined the two were involved in an altercation prior to shots being fired.
“The motive in this investigation stemmed from an ongoing dispute,” Sgt. Rodarius Mauldin said in a press release.
