ST. CLAIR COUNTY — A woman charged in connection to the death of Moody Police officer Lt. Stephen Williams, was denied bond during after a hearing in a St. Clair County court.
According to court documents, Marquisha Tyson, 28, of Birmingham, claimed she did not shoot a gun or anticipate the killing of Williams on the night of Tuesday, June 2, 2020. Williams was gunned down while responding to a disturbance call at the Super 8 in Moody.
District Judge Billy R. Weathington, Jr., ruled Tyson would “pose a real and present danger to others and the public at large” and did not give her a bond.
Another suspect, Tapero Corlene Johnson, 27, of Birmingham, is also charged in the death. Both Tyson and Johnson face a capital murder charge. Neither defendant has been given bond.
