BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office identified a teen killed in an apparent gunfight that also injured three others.
Cyrus Montez Abrams, Jr., 17, of Birmingham, was pronounced dead on the scene.
Officers heard multiple shots fired in the 1000 block of 15th Way SW in Birmingham late on Tuesday, Aug. 4, 2020. Upon arrival, officers discovered two people suffering from gunshot wounds.
One was Abrams and the other victim was rushed to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.
Police were later told that two more people arrived at local hospitals suffering from gunshot wounds. They were taken by personal vehicles and had non-life-threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation suggests gunfire was exchanged among those who were wounded. This is an ongoing investigation and no suspects are in custody at this time.
