CALERA — A trial date has been set for a Shelby County man accused in the 2018 death of his wife.
Jeff West, 44, is charged with murder in connection to the Jan. 12, 2018 death of Kathleen West.
West, who was 42 at the time of her death, was found dead in front of a neighbor’s home on Greenwood Circle, in Calera. Investigators said they thought Jeff West used a bottle of Lucid Absinthe to kill his wife.
The medical examiner said the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head.
West maintains his innocence. He is set for a pre-trial docket on Aug. 21.
