BESSEMER — A Fairfield man is facing a drug trafficking charge after an arrest in west Jefferson County.
Andre Maurice Hood, Jr., was arrested on Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, by Jefferson County narcotics detectives.
Sgt. Joni Money said the detectives were conducting surveillance in the area of Flint Hill Road when they made a traffic stop on a subject in the area.
“That stop proved to be beneficial to their goal,” Money said in a press release.
Detectives seized hydrocodone pills, an AR-15 rifle, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia consistent with the distribution of narcotics, according to Money.
Hood is charged with trafficking opiates. He was taken to the Jefferson County Jail and given a $5,000 bond.
