TUSCALOOSA — Police body camera footage captured the moment Tuscaloosa Police officers rescued around a dozen people during flash flooding, on Tuesday, Aug. 11, 2020.
Sgt. J.E. Spraggins heard calls for help near the intersection of Kaulton Road and 35th Street, around 9 p.m. Spraggins ran towards the voices and found an SUV in high water. About 12 people were sitting on the roof of the vehicle.
Two other officers, P.N. Bryant and R.T. Prewitt, responded and helped Spraggins rescue at least 12 people, including several children and two infants.
