BIRMINGHAM — Doris, a five-year-old English bulldog from Birmingham, has been named one of 10 selections as a 2021 Early Times All-American Dog.
Doris was chosen from tens-of-thousands of entries as part of the Early Times All-American Dogs social media campaign. Doris participated in a photoshoot with other All-American dogs from across the country, and her picture will be featured in the Early Times 2021 All-American Dogs calendar later this fall. On Monday, Aug. 3, a billboard featuring Doris was also revealed in Birmingham on I-65 S near exit 260.
“We knew Doris was a winner based on her work with the United States military veterans through charities and right at home with her owner,” said Robert Trinkle, Partner and Senior Vice President, PriceWeber. “Doris is a lovable dog who is the life of the party at veteran fundraisers, including Birmingham’s Veterans Day parade that she walks in each year.”
“Doris is really good with people,” said Drew Wojcik, Doris’ owner who grew up in Center Point. “I have suffered from post-traumatic stress disorder from my time serving in the United States Navy and she’s always there for me. I don’t know what I would do without her.”
