JEFFERSON COUNTY — An arrest has been made in connection to an alleged carjacking in the Pleasant Grove area.
Christian Gage Ridlehoover, 22, has been taken into custody and charged with first degree robbery and second degree assault. His bonds total $75,000.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office, police received a call of a carjacking that occurred on the night of Tuesday, Aug. 18.
The victim told deputies that he had given a ride to Ridlehoover on Tuesday night. While en route, the victim’s vehicle began to have trouble, causing him to check under the hood. Once he closed the hood to return to the vehicle, he saw the suspect had climbed into the driver‘s seat and began to pull away.
The victim told deputies he attempted to stop the moving vehicle and was dragged by the suspect for a period of time. He then walked to the Pleasant Grove Police Department for assistance.
The unnamed victim was later treated for injuries at a local hospital.
Using flock camera technology, Jefferson County Detectives located Ridlehoover with the vehicle on Allison-Bonnet Road In Jefferson County. The 22-year-old was taken into custody on Wednesday and transported to the Jefferson county jail in Bessemer.
