LEEDS — The Leeds Educational Foundation was given a $500 donation on Friday, Aug. 21, 2020.
The Asman family has been raising money to help others since the coronavirus pandemic began.
The effort is called Hello Kindness and Natalie Asman said the purpose is to help those fighting the pandemic from the front lines, including those in education.
“We decided we wanted to support a school and it was just the obvious choice that we would help Leeds Schools,” Asman said.
The money will go towards grants the teachers will apply for in the fall, according to Superintendent John Moore.
“We appreciate this donation very much,” Moore said. “There are a lot of great charities out there and ways you can provide money and we are very thankful that Leeds City Schools made the list.”
The teachers can ask for anything from paper and supplies to added technology to their classrooms.
