BIRMINGHAM — An arrest has been made in the connection
to the homicide of 21-year-old Joe Albert Foster IV who was murdered on July 28, 2020, at the Villas at Westridge Apartment Complex in Birmingham.
The investigation has led Birmingham detectives to obtained a Murder warrant for Myles Cordell Amerson, 21, of Birmingham. Amerson has been arrested and will be held in the custody of the Jefferson County Jail with a $60,000 bond.
At 12:21 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, officers responded to a call about shots fired in the 2300 block of Court R at the Villas at Westridge Apartment Complex.
According to Birmingham police, officers arrived at the scene and were notified by resident of gunfire heard from an adjacent apartment. Upon further investigation,officers discovered a 21-year-old victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
Birmingham Fire and Rescue along with Jefferson County Coroner later pronounced Foster dead at the scene.
