BIRMINGHAM — Birmingham detectives are conducting a homicide investigation following an incident that occurred on Saturday, Aug. 22.
Birmingham police responded to a call of a fight occurring in the middle of the road in the 900 block Arkadelphia Avenue just after 2 p.m. Saturday. Upon arrival, officers discovered the victim, Demetrius Wright, in a vehicle wounded and disoriented.
Wright was transported to UAB Hospital where he later succumb to his injuries. He was 31 years old.
Police believe the victim was involved in a physical altercation with a female in the roadway when he was fatally wounded. This homicide appears to be domestic in nature.
