CLAY — The city of Clay shut down a lingerie photo shoot that was taking place at the site of the C&M Southern Midways carnival.
Clay Mayor Charles Webster said C&M was misled by a production company that rented the site for the photo shoot, one day before the carnival opened. City Manager Ronnie Dixon shut down the photoshoot when concerned citizens notified the city.
“To ensure the City of Clay understands CNM Midways’ sincere apology, all carnival rides tonight (Thursday) are free,” the city posted on Facebook. “The carnival strives to provide a fun, family-friendly event and would love to treat Clay to a night of free rides.”
C&M said allowing the event was an honest mistake due to false information they were provided.
The carnival will be open from Thursday, Aug. 27 to Saturday, Aug. 29, 2020. It is located at 6735 Old Springville Road, the property between the Clay Public Library and the United States Post Office, in Clay.
