TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is investigating after three cars were broken into at Hampton Inn and one was broken into at Cracker Barrel, all on the same day.
According to police reports, three vehicles at the Hampton Inn, off Edwards Lake Road, were broken into between 1 a.m. and 10:20 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 29.
A change purse with $12 was taken from a 2019 Dodge Ram. The rear driver’s window was busted out of the truck. The driver’s side window of a 2007 Ford Mustang was broken and several Miller Lite beers were taken from a case inside the vehicle. Police said empty beer cans were also found scattered throughout the parking lot. Nothing was stolen from the third vehicle, a 2018 Chevrolet Tahoe, but the rear driver’s side window was shattered.
Later that evening, police received a call to Cracker Barrel, off Norrell Drive, after an employee of the restaurant said he came outside to find his 2017 Nissan Sentra had been broken into. The driver’s side rear window was broken and a Glock 23 pistol had been stolen.
