TRUSSVILLE — Trussville City Schools will undergo the Cognia (formerly known as AdvancED) re-accreditation review from Oct. 4 – 7.
Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction, Dr. Lisa Berry, said while the process is usually completed in-person, because of the coronavirus pandemic, schools will be assessed on 31 performance standards, virtually.
“Out of those 31, there are five key concepts embedded within each of the 31 standards,” Berry explained. “There’s an engagement piece, implementation, results, sustainability and embeddedness.”
Berry said a lot of work is going into providing evidence of the standards.
“It’s all about continuous improvement,” Berry added. “That just speaks to what we do and who we are in Trussville. So, we’re ready to meet that challenge.”
Meetings for reaccreditation will take place via Zoom.
