HOOVER — An accident involving four cars in Hoover has left one child dead.
Authorities have identified the victim as 8-year-old Serris Prude, of Hoover. The accident, according to reports, took place in the 1600 block of Montgomery Hwy. near the Hoover Square shopping center around 7:44 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10.
According to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office, Prude was a passenger of a motor vehicle that was struck from the rear by a commercial truck. She was pronounced dead at Children’s Hospital Thursday morning.
The cause and circumstances surrounding the wreck is being investigated by the Hoover Police Department.
According to WBRC Fox 6, four more people were transported to hospitals with minor injuries. The accident involved a 1996 heavy duty GMC, a 2010 Honda Fit, a 2017 Lexus GX460 and a 2018 Ford F-150.
