ENSLEY — A verbal altercation led to the killing of a 28-year-old man in Ensley on Thursday night.
The victim has been identified as Reginald Kelly, of Birmingham. On the night of Sept. 10, officers from West Precinct responded to a call of a person shot at 1715 51st Street in Ensley at approximately 9:08 p.m.
Officer arrived on scene and found Kelly inside the residence suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to UAB hospital where he succumb to his injuries.
The Birmingham Police Department is conducting a homicide investigation, but no suspects are in custody at this time. Authorities believe Kelly was involved in a verbal altercation with the suspect prior to being shot.
