JEFFERSON COUNTY — The threat of Hurricane Sally has influenced a minor adjustment for students in Jefferson County.
“We are currently watching Hurricane Sally for any potential impacts locally,” said JefCoEd Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin on Tuesday afternoon. “In an anticipation of the heavy rain that is expected over the next couple of days, we are moving up our lunch service on Wednesday, September 16th by one hour.”
Carline lunch pickup at schools will be conducted from 10-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday only, according to a JefCoEd announcement Tuesday.
“Again, these changes are for Wednesday only,” said Gonsoulin. “While we cannot know for sure what the weather will do, we are trying to be proactive and get the meals our as early as possible. My staff and I are closely monitoring this situation and if other adjustments are needed we will communicate those directly to you.”
