TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Police Department is hosting a prescription drug take back day in conjunction with the U.S. Department of Justice’s Drug Enforcement Agency’s National Prescription Drug Take Back Day.
Members of the public may bring their outdated prescription drugs and vape dispensers, as long as the batteries have been removed, and vape cartridges.
“Concerns have been raised across the United States over illnesses and death caused by vaping and the high youth vaping initiation rates,” the DEA said in a statement. “In an effort to support a healthy lifestyle and energetic population, especially amongst America’s youth, DEA is committed to doing all it can to help safely dispose of vaping devices and substances.”
The take back day is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Trussville Police Department, located at 131 Main Street, Trussville.
