CULLMAN — A Cullman man is in custody for allegedly hitting and kicking a small child.
William Richard Mebius, 27, was arrested Sunday and faces charges of torture and willful abuse of a child under the age of 18, chemical endangerment of a child and possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to reports, the incident happened Sunday when Mebius hit and kicked the victim — a 3-year-old girl. The child’s mother filed a protection from abuse request after Mebius was recorded slamming her on the floor after yelling and threatening her.
Investigators are working with the Department of Human Resources on this ongoing case.
