PINSON — Pinson Valley is trying to find a replacement after Mortimer Jordan announced it will not make the trip to Willie Adams Stadium this Friday night, due to complications surrounding coronavirus.
Mortimer Jordan head coach Dusty Goode confirmed his team was dealing with positive cases on Sept. 17. The Blue Devils observed a bye on Sept. 18 and were forced to forfeit a Sept. 25 home game against Briarwood Christian.
This week’s game at Pinson Valley carries Class 6A, Region 6 implications. According to a Twitter post from MJHS Football, the two teams might attempt to play during Week 10 (Oct. 29 or 30). The Indians are currently scheduled to play a non-region game against Lee-Huntsville on Oct. 30.
Pinson Valley (4-2, 3-0) says it is currently looking for a replacement opponent this week, but has been unsuccessful so far. The Indians are open on Oct. 9 and travel to Clay-Chalkville on Oct 16.
