The Alabama High School Athletic Association released its latest batch of high school football rankings Tuesday night.
Hewitt-Trussville, Clay-Chalkville and Pinson Valley stayed put in their respective polls, and Leeds continues to scratch at the Class 5A door.
The Green Wave (7-1, 5-0) will look to earn more votes (3) with a Region 7 trip to Corner on Friday night. With a victory, Leeds would stretch its win streak to eight games.
Perhaps the game of the week in Class 6A will take place at Cougar Stadium on Friday night, as No. 3 Clay-Chalkville (7-0, 5-0) hosts No. 4 Pinson Valley (5-2, 4-0) with a Region 6 championship on the line. The Tribe has won the last six meetings, but Clay-Chalkville still leads the series 10-6.
In Class 7A, Hewitt-Trussville (6-2, 3-2) will put its No. 4 ranking on the line Friday night in Region 3 play, as Gadsden City makes its first trip to Husky Field since 2017.
