AUBURN — Authorities are investigating a weekend shooting in Auburn that left two teens injured.
The incident occurred at about 1:22 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Shelton Mill Road. Auburn police responded and discovered two male victims suffering from gunshot wounds in the parking lot of a convenience store located in the 2000 block of East University Drive.
According to reports, the two victims, ages 19 and 16, are from Phenix City. The 19-year-old was treated at East Alabama Medical Center, while the 16-year-old was transported to Piedmont Medical Center. Both have been released from their respective hospitals.
Authorities believe the incident was related to a previous altercation with a known acquaintance, who is now a person of interest.
