CENTER POINT — A local firefighter helped bring home a World Championship in the Firefighter Combat Challenge.
Ana Ruzevic competed in the women’s relay in Irving, Texas after months of preparation. Although she said the pandemic impacted her preparation, her team was able to succeed.
Ruzevic works part-time at Center Point Fire and Rescue and is a full-time firefighter in Vestavia. CPFR Chief Gene Coleman congratulated Ruzevic for “setting the pace for many.”
Ruzevic also placed second in the Individual Women’s Competition and 2nd in the Co-Ed Tandem competition.
She said one of the best aspects of the competition is being able to see those she competes with every year.
