VESTAVIA HILLS — The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office is working to identify a person killed in a fiery crash late Thursday, Oct. 29, 2020.
The crash happened around 9:30 p.m. in the 100 block of U.S. Highway 431, at Valley View Road.
Coroner Bill Yates said the driver of an SUV traveling southbound on 31 left the roadway and struck a concrete and brick pillar. The vehicle caught fire and the person was pronounced dead on the scene.
The victim has not been identified.
The circumstances surrounding the wreck are being investigated by the Vestavia Hills Police Department.
