STARKVILLE, Miss. — COVID-19 strikes again.
The Southeastern Conference on Monday announced its plan to postpone the Auburn-Mississippi State college football game, which was scheduled for this Saturday, Nov. 14 in Starkville, Miss.
The conference broke the news on its Twitter page Monday afternoon, posting the following message: “NEWS | The Auburn at Mississippi State FB game of Nov. 14 is postponed due to positive tests & subsequent quarantine of individuals within the MSU FB program.
“The action is consistent with SEC COVID-19 management requirements. The game is tentatively rescheduled for Dec. 12.”
The SEC has set a minimum threshold of 53 available scholarship athletes in order to compete. Players who test positive for COVID-19 must quarantine for 10 days
This will be the sixth SEC game this season to be postponed for insufficient players available on one team.
