CLAY — An arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting in Clay.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies arrested 33-year-old Jacob Naquade Chambers in the shooting death of his stepfather. On Tuesday, Nov. 24, Deputies were called to the 7500 block of Weems Lane in Clay to investigate a call of a person shot.
Once on scene, officers found 56-year-old Paul Edward Trull Jr. suffering from gunshot wounds. Trull later succumbed to his injuries.
Chambers remained on the scene until deputies arrived and was taken into custody. Police say after interviewing the suspect and several witnesses, Chambers was arrested and charged with murder. His bond is set at $50,000.
According to reports, Chambers was upset regarding a confrontation during which the victim had been accused of assaulting another family member.
