From The Tribune staff reports
TRUSSVILLE — The Trussville Christmas parade will be on Saturday, Dec. 12, 2020. This year’s parade theme is “Christmas Traditions.”
The purpose of the theme is to spark fond memories of Christmases past and inspire parade entrants to take one or more of those memories and turn them into an award-winning float.
“We can’t wait to see the level of creativity that having a theme adds to the event,” said Melissa Walker, event coordinator for the Trussville Area Chamber of Commerce. “A theme puts everybody at the same starting point, yet offers the challenge of interpreting that theme in a way that outdoes the competition.”
Float Competition prizes will be awarded for:
- Best Interpretation of Theme
- Most Original
- Most Innovative
- Best Overall.
A prize will also be awarded to the Best Walking Group.
“It’s going to be a lot of fun for everybody involved, so sign up today then get those creative juices flowing!” Walker said.
Before the parade, Downtown Merchants are hosting the 2020 Cookie Walk. Tickets go on sale on Dec. 1. Click here for more information on the Cookie Walk.
The parade will take place on Dec. 12, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Individuals and groups wishing to participate can register online at www.trussvillechamber.com. For more information, call the chamber office at or email Melissa.walker@trussvillechamber.com.
