BIRMINGHAM — A 24-year-old woman has been killed following a single-vehicle accident on Wednesday morning.
A report from the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies were called to the scene of an accident at approximately 8:50 a.m. after a vehicle left the roadway and struck a tree near the intersection of Westridge Drive and Eastridge Road in Birmingham.
Upon arrival, deputies discovered a 24-year-old female in the vehicle. She was transported to a local hospital but did not survive her injuries, according to police.
The Jefferson County START Team is investigating the cause of the accident. The identity of the victim has not been released.
