UPDATE: Police say 22-year-old De’Andre Carrithers, of Midfield, has been taken into custody and is charged with capital murder. Carrithers also has a current outstanding warrant for domestic violence, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
A bond has not yet been set.
FAIRFIELD — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting that happened on Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020.

Tykeia Marquise Daniels, 21, of Birmingham, was shot at the BPgas station at 5601 EJ Oliver Boulevard. The shooting happened around 10:31 a.m.
Daniels was taken to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 11:19 a.m., according to the Jefferson County Coroner’s Office.
The death is being investigated as a homicide.
