TRUSSVILLE — A local teacher has been recognized for her exceptional work in the classroom and beyond.
Christy Stewart, a first-grade teacher at Paine Elementary School in Trussville, was recently awarded the title of Alexander Shunnarah’s “Teacher of the Month,” for October.
The monthly honor highlights ‘superstar teachers’ in Alabama, who make a difference in their student’s lives. Stewart was nominated by fellow teachers, students, and parents for the attention she has shown her students throughout this challenging school year.
She was recently displayed on an Alexander Shunnarah digital billboard located on the Red Mountain Expressway and was also gifted a $250 American Express gift card.
