BIRMINGHAM — This holiday season, grants could be available to small business owners in the Birmingham area.
Birmingham Top 40 Under 40, Dee Edwards and her husband, Michael, Marketplace Pastors and Entrepreneurs, and owners of Accurate Tax Services have announced the first-ever COVID-19 Small Business Holiday Grants.
This grant will go towards helping small business owners thrive and push forward through the pandemic. After seeing many small businesses unable to obtain PPP or EIDL, they have raised over $12,000 from family, friends, supporters on social media, Accurate Tax Services and Sugar & Ice Dessert Truck owner, Kimberly Mason.
Over the last five years, they have hosted small business Christmas events to be a blessing to small business owners and entrepreneurs. During these events, they have given away money, products and equipment from the small business owners’ wish list. Despite the coronavirus pandemic, they will continue with their efforts to support small business owners.
The grant application is available to small business owners, entrepreneurs, and CEOs who have an immediate need in their business. The grant can be used to pay utilities, rent, purchase marketing material, equipment, products, and/or expansion. Grant amounts will range between $100 – $500 for each applicant. Donations are still being accepted as of Dec. 3.
Grants will be disbursed later this month.
