SPRINGVILLE — Hearings were set to take place on Monday, Dec. 7, 2020, in the city of Springville and those hearings have been continued.
Three police officers who were previously asked to resign from the Springville Police Department are appealing the matter.
The hearings were initially scheduled separately to begin at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Monday. Attorneys, the officers, Mayor Dave Thomas and Judge Richard Izzi were in attendance. A court reporter was not in the courtroom.
The attorneys left the courtroom several times to privately discuss matters and discuss a possible agreement. The hearings will be continued until the week of Dec. 14 in order to give all parties time to review that possible agreement.
Thomas previously stated he asked four officers to resign and that he had cause to do so. The fourth officer offered his resignation without question. The three remaining officers filed an appeal.
