MARION COUNTY — Authorities are investigating an officer-involved shooting in Marion County.
According to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA), special agents with the State Bureau of Investigation (SBI) are investigating a shooting that involves at least one officer with the Winfield Police Department. The investigation began on Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020 at the request of the Winfield Police Department.
According to a statement from ALEA, the shooting sent two people to a medical facility for treatment. No officers were injured, according to the statement.
No further information is available regarding the investigation. Once the investigation is complete, ALEA will turn the findings over to the Marion County District Attorney’s Office.
