BESSEMER — A 16-year-old boy was found inside a home that was on fire on Sunday, Dec. 20, 2020. The boy was taken to the hospital where he later died.
Jefferson County Coroner Bill Yates identified the teen as Kayvion Webster, of Bessemer.
Bessemer Fire and Rescue found Webster’s family outside of the house but Webster was still inside. Fire personnel went into the house around 2:55 a.m. and discovered him still inside. They took him to UAB Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 2:44 p.m.
The Bessemer Fire Department and the Bessemer Police Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
