CENTER POINT — A second shooting in Center Point in as many days has left a man wounded with non-life threatening injuries, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
“Around 7:15 p.m., on December 24, Jefferson County Deputies were called to the 300 Block of Tammy Sue Drive in Center Point to investigate the call of a person who had been shot,” Sgt. Joni Money said. “Once on the scene deputies encountered a 30-year-old male who had been shot in the leg.”
According to the initial investigation, the male was inside a vehicle with two other males when one of the males started shooting inside of the vehicle. The victim was hit in the leg.
Money said he was transported to UAB for treatment of his wounds, which are thought to be non-life threatening. The circumstances surrounding the shooting are still under investigation.
