Mark 12:29-31 is known as “the Greatest Commandment” this passage was the epitome of Yvonne’s life. To love God with her entire being and to love her neighbor. Yvonne possessed a selfless heart for serving others, her passionate love and commitment to her family, her 22 years as a therapeutic foster parent, her fervent love for the Birmingham Theological Seminary Prison Ministry at Bibb County Correctional Facility, the recidivism program Jumpstart Al. and the ministry at Africa Reformation Theological Seminary in Uganda.
Yvonne was a member of the hospitality team at Household of Faith Church, PCA. Her devotion to perfection and beauty was evident in the flower displays/arrangements she made and in all of her work for the church. Yvonne built a home, literally and figuratively, with a foundation of love, God gifted her with an abundance of natural skills and abilities.
She was Mum, Nanny, Nan, Miss Yvonne, Mama and JaJa to hundreds of people all over America and the world. She made her home open to all and all who came felt 100% at home. God designed Yvonne to serve, she wanted nothing of herself but only to bring love and joy to others.
