BIRMINGHAM — The Jefferson County Coroner identified a homicide victim in Bessemer.
Zachery B. Brown, Jr., 67, of Birmingham was shot and killed during a reported assault, according to Coroner Bill Yates.
The shooting happened in the 2800 block of 12th Avenue North, in Bessemer, on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021. Brown was taken to UAB Hospital at 6:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead the next day at 4:18 p.m., according to Yates.
The Bessemer Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
