VESTAVIA HILLS — The Hewitt-Trussville varsity was swept on Friday nigh at Vestavia Hills as the girls basketball team fell 61-54 followed by a 66-54 loss in the boys game.
The Rebels were led in the opener by Emma Smith and Josie Edwards, who scored 20 and 16 points respectively. Friday night’s loss drops Hewitt to 18-3, including a 2-2 mark in Class 7A, Area 6 play.
In the boys contest, Vestavia’s Win Miller led all scorers with 30 points at home. The Huskies hope to grab their first Area 6 victory on Tuesday night when Spain Park travels over.
