SPRINGVILLE – The city of Springville is doing its part to aid the people of Fultondale following a deadly tornado that hit late Monday night.
According to Springville Fire Chief Richard L. Harvey, the city will be collecting items for the victims involved. Harvey provided a list of items that will be accepted:
- Heavy-duty construction/garbage bags
- Plastic tubs with lids
- Work gloves
- Plastic gloves
- Rakes
- Shovels
- Tarps
- Hammers
- Roofing nails
- Cleaning Supplies
- Gallon size or larger zip-lock bags
- Laundry Detergent
- Water by the case
- Pet Food
- Dust Mask
- Bath Towels
- Soap and Shampoo
- Gift Cards
Anyone wishing to help can drop off any of the above items at a Springville fire station between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. Springville fire station No. 1 is located at 200 Walker Drive. Fire station No. 2 is located at 1616 Mountain View Road.
Fire & rescue personnel will also be on hand at the Springville Walmart to collect items on Saturday, Jan. 30 starting at 10 a.m.
