SPRINGVILLE — A Springville Police officer was promoted to Sergeant on Monday, Feb. 2, 2021.
Margaret “Maggie” Milazzo is now Sgt. Milazzo after a promotion and pinning ceremony.
“This is where I started my law enforcement career and I hope this is where I end it,” Milazzo said. “I am just really grateful to be here and to be entrusted with a leadership position.”
Other officers in leadership positions at the department said she deserves the step-up.
“Officer Milazzo has been a team player,” said Lt. Mike Long. “She’s been instrumental with Chief Wayne Walton’s new way of doing things and with his chain-of-command. We are honored to have her as a part of the team.”
Corporal Brandon Keith, who used to be Milazzo’s partner said he has seen Milazzo in action.
“This really means a lot and it’s great to see,” said Keith. “I know she works hard and she will do whatever she can for others.
If anything, her partners in crime-fighting say Milazzo is a straight-shooter, in more ways than one.
“You don’t ask Sgt. Milazzo a question if you don’t want an honest answer,” Long added.
