MARGARET — Every year the Margaret Lions Club recognizes members of the community, who go above and beyond to serve the needs of others.
This year, the club has chosen two individuals for their unselfish service to the needs of students at Margaret Elementary School, a member of the St. Clair County system.
Club secretary Pedro M. Pino, Sr. says Margaret Elementary School counselor Carrie Murray Tucker has been presented with the Heart of a Lion Award for her unselfish service to the needs of her students and the community.
Pino also says Jessie Tyler, manager of Dollar General in Margaret, has been recognized as a Heart of a Lion Award recipient for being a passionate supporter of the students at Margaret Elementary School and the Margaret Lions Club.
Both Tyler and Tucker received a $20 gift certificate to go with their Heart of a Lion honor.
