CENTER POINT — The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office is investigating after two teens were shot on Thursday, Feb. 11, 2021.
Deputies first responded to a 16-year-old shot near the intersection of 6th Street Northwest and 15th Court Northwest, in Center Point. The teen was taken to UAB Hospital for treatment.
While deputies were on the scene of the shooting, they got a call about another juvenile that was at St. Vincent’s East Hospital being treated for a gunshot wound. Deputies believe that 15-year-old was shot at the same location as the 16-year old.
“According to reports, a male was seen in the area leaning into a vehicle at the originally reported location,” said Sgt. Joni Money. Multiple shots were heard by witnesses. The injuries to the subjects are not thought to be life threatening.”
